Clackamas Women’s Services (CWS) affirms the right of every person to live a life free of violence. They honor differences among women & children and make their services accessible to individuals who face discrimination for any reason.
CWS provides safety, shelter, information and advocacy to increase women & children’s access to medical, legal and social services. They work toward the empowerment of all women & children to control their own lives, and encourage the individuals who use CWS services to make their own life choices.
We all recognize that violence against women & children is a widespread and deep-seated societal problem. CWS actively advocates social change and educate the community about the impact of domestic & sexual violence. They support a coordinated community response to family violence, which holds abusers accountable.
Since 1985, CWS has been the only non-profit organization in Clackamas County dedicated to ending domestic and sexual violence against women and children. During this time they have touched the lives of more than 70,000 women, children and community members through our programs and services.
You can help they grow! Advantis Credit Union has picked CWS as one of the semi-finalists to win $10,000 of the $50,000 being offered from the Advantis GROW community fund!
This grant will furnish their new shelter annex which, when opened in the fall of 2012, will almost double the available “bed space” for women and children fleeing family violence in Clackamas County with a minimal increase in cost.
How can you help? By voting on the Advantis web page click Advantis Vote!
The voting started Monday, June 25 to Friday, July 13, you can vote 1x every 24 hours. All it takes is a couple of clicks….so vote early and vote daily!!
Please join me in supporting CWS!
Greetings:
Bill Wilson.
