Majestic Eagle Agency’s Damon Winter has been named a Portland 2011 Five Star Wealth Manager by Portland Monthly magazine! The honor is bestowed to only the top 4% of all wealth managers in the area. This select group of top wealth managers can be viewed in the May, 2011 issue of Portland Monthly. Over 59,000 households were surveyed and asked to evaluate only wealth managers whom they knew through personal experience. These wealth managers were evaluated on nine criteria: customer service, integrity, knowledge/expertise, communication, value for fee charged, meeting of financial objectives, post-sale service, quality of recommendations, and overall satisfaction. Each wealth manager was also reviewed by a panel of industry experts. Damon is among a very elite group of wealth managers comprised of the best of the best!

Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC)


The Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) Program is the insurance industry’s premier, proven source for practical, real-world education since 1969. With over 100 hours of formal insurance training, CIC’s are recognized among the best and most knowledgeable insurance practitioners in the nation. The CIC designation signifies that your Certified Insurance Counselor has obtained the highest level of competency provided in the insurance industry. With the annual update your CIC receives each year from The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research, you can be assured that he or she is the most capable and current in the insurance industry. The CIC designation is a mark of distinction that represents a commitment to continuous enhancement of one’s knowledge and service. CIC is nationally recognized as a symbol of professional excellence and leadership in the insurance industry.

Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR)


The Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation represents a comprehensive understanding of risks and exposures by the professional who has earned it. CISR is a designation recognized in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. Today, more than 27,000 insurance professionals have distinguished themselves as CISRs, by successfully completing five courses and examinations. CISRs have to commit to annual continuing education – to update their designation and their knowledge, in order to serve their clients, agencies, and companies at the highest level.

Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU)

Chartered Life Underwriter, The Society of Financial Service Professionals is over 80 years old with nearly 17,000 members in nearly 180 Chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Canada and Singapore. Founded in 1928 by the first graduates of The American College, its mission is to promote professionalism among its members through the highest quality continuing education and the maintenance of high ethical standards and conduct. While many of its members have earned a designation or degree from The American College, the Society is a separate and independent organization.

Certified Fund Specialist (CFS)®

The Certified Fund Specialist® (CFS) is the fourth oldest designation program in the financial services industry, and the only nationally recognized mutual fund certification. This designation is conferred upon candidates who complete an intensive yearlong graduate school level program. There are several hundred thousand people who are licensed to sell mutual funds; less than three percent of them have earned the CFS designation. To become a Certified Fund Specialist, candidates must pass three final exams, as well as a comprehensive written case study. The curriculum is offered through the Institute of Business and Finance.

Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow (LUTCF)

The American College and The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) jointly confer the LUTC Fellow (LUTCF) designation, which has been earned by more than 67,500 professionals. An advisory board, the Financial Services Training Council (FSTC) consisting of industry representatives, provides advice and counsel to ensure that the LUTCF designation programs meet the needs of the insurance and financial community and The College’s standards of academic excellence. Advisors must complete the Ethics for the Financial Services Professional course along with five additional courses chosen from a curriculum of insurance, estate and retirement planning, and then pass the final exam.

National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA)

The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) has a leadership history dating back to 1890. Comprised of more than 700 state and local associations and approximately 200,000 agents and advisors nationwide, NAIFA’s mission is to advocate for a positive legislative and regulatory environment, enhance business and professional skills, and promote the ethical conduct of its members. The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors protects and promotes the critical role of insurance in a sound financial plan and the essential role provided by its professional advisors.

Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT)

The Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), The Premier Association of Financial Professionals, is an international, independent association of more than 31,000 members, or less than 1 percent, of the world’s most successful life insurance and financial services professionals from 476 companies in 80 nations and territories. MDRT members demonstrate exceptional professional knowledge, strict ethical conduct and outstanding client service. MDRT membership is recognized internationally as the standard of sales excellence in the life insurance and financial services business.

It was founded in 1927, when 32 extraordinary life insurance producers, each of whom had sold at least $1 million of life insurance, dreamed of a forum dedicated to fostering a high-standard, professional approach to life insurance sales and service. Founded on the belief that growth is a result of exchanging ideas, the concept was: “To receive, individuals must give.”

Institute of Business & Finance (IBF)

In 1988, the Institute of Business & Finance (IBF) launched its first certification program. Certified Fund Specialist® (CFS®), IBF was founded by a small group of registered representatives and financial planners. Today, more than 13,000 members of the financial services industry, including several dozen Fortune 500 companies, have taken one or more IBF programs. The flagship designation, CFS®, is the fourth oldest designation in the financial services industry and the oldest mutual fund designation in the country.

IBF personnel are dedicated to continually making the content of their financial training better, serving the needs of several thousand students and graduates, as well as increasing the awareness of IBF designations to brokers, insurance agents, accountants, financial planners, investment advisors, bankers and the general public. In addition to the CFS® designation, they also offer the Board Certified in Estate Planning™ (BCE™), Certified Income Specialist™ (CIS™) and the Certified Tax Specialist™ (CIS™) designations.
